Ford Coppola shines at Beirut Intl Film Festival 09

Francis Ford Coppola, the legendary director of “The Godfathers”, attended the opening of the Beirut International Film Festival on October 7th at the UNESCO palace where his film “Tetro” fascinated the crowd during its screening. The festival will include 5 categories of movies: International Panorama, Retrospective: Paolo Benvenuti-Italy, Competition Arab feature films, Competition Arab short films, and Documentary Art special screenings.

Many stars attended the opening and walked down the red carpet from Lebanese director and actress Nadine Labaki to Egyptian actor Khaled Abo AlNaga. The festival will go on until the 14th satisfying every taste at Sofil Metropolis 1 and 2 except for the closing night which will also be held at the UNESCO Palace. The closing night will feature the film “Taking Woodstock” by the talented Ang Lee, known for his films “Brokeback Mountain” and “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon”.
