Out of 16 girls, Martine Andraos, 18, won the Miss Lebanon 2009 title at one of the most anticipated events of the year. Hosted by Malik Maktabi and sponsored by the Lebanese Broadcasting Channel, the event featured two of Lebanon’s best singers Nancy Ajram and Wael Kfoury. Both looked fabulous and sang their latest hits.

Nine judges of different fields worked with a grading scale for each girl in terms of bathing suit wear, night wear and questions from the judges to decided on the final five. Judges included the Lebanese director and actress Nadine Labaki and plastic surgeon specialist Nader Saab.

The final question for the final five was, let’s test our pageant skills,’ what does the cedar of Lebanon mean to you?’ The judges were impressed by Andraos’s answer which sealed the deal and gave her the winning points.
Second runner up went to Celine Hassoun and first runner up went to Marie Ange Sebaaly.

Beauty was everywhere that night especially when Miss Lebanon of 2008 crowned our current one. How could you let go of such an expensive shiny piece? She has to.

Andraos’s parents showed their pride and happiness when they went on stage and showed their support for the most beautiful lady in Lebanon.

Andraos’s mission will revolve around a natural resource and that is water and her message will be centered on preserving such a resource.

Congrats Martine! Make us proud!
